Michel DeQuevedo
About MichelMichel DeQuevedo is a Mexican-Canadian singer-songwriter, percussionist, and multidisciplinary creator whose work blends Pop, Rock, Latin, and African influences.
Throughout his musical career, Michel has collaborated with renowned artists including Natalia Lafourcade, Julieta Venegas, Molotov, Sultans of String, and Walk off the Earth.
In 2021, Michel was diagnosed with stage IV Gastrointestinal Neuroendocrine Cancer, an experience that led him to establish NETs México, a patient advocacy organization dedicated to raising awareness and supporting people affected by Neuroendocrine Tumors in Latin America.
Michel has also expanded his creative work into political and social satire, producing original memes, illustrations, and reels while exploring AI as a new creative tool without allowing it to replace his own voice.
His work approaches current political and social issues through comedy, satire, and visual storytelling. All pieces begin with research into the subject, with an emphasis on verifiable information rather than unsupported claims.
While AI plays a role in producing the imagery, the concepts, message, visual direction, composition, and details are deliberately directed by Michel. AI is the tool, not a substitute for the creative process.
Whether through music, advocacy, or visual satire, Michel's work is driven by storytelling, curiosity, and a desire to connect with people in ways that can provoke emotion, thought, and occasionally a good laugh.
